IMAGE (at right): Looking Up (Gratitude for the Sky), (c)2009, 83 x 21 inches, Handmade Japanese kozo paper, acrylic dye, bamboo.
About the piece: We walk our planet at the bottom of an ocean of air we call the sky. The sky is constantly moving (similar the ocean’s currents.) Plant life cleans the sky and keeps it brimming with oxygen. As we breath we taste the sky and it gives us continuing refreshment. A clear night offers us a view of the vast, mysterious universe. This piece gives thanks to the sky.
